Family-Owned, Community-Driven
Navigating Medicare and Health Insurance Together

Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period (October 15-December 7) is coming up, and it's a great time to double-check that your coverage still fits your needs. If any of the following raise questions or you'd like to explore/compare your Medicare-approved plan options together, please feel free to reach out to make an appointment for the upcoming Annual Enrollment Period.
Here are some frequently asked questions that come up this time of year:
What changes can I make during Annual Enrollment?
You can switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan, change from one Advantage plan to another, or modify your Part D prescription coverage.
What's the difference between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage?
Original Medicare is government-managed and typically paired with separate drug coverage and optional Medigap. Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurers and often bundle medical and drug benefits, with some including extras like dental or vision.
What is the ANOC (Annual Notice of Change), and when is it supplied?
If you are in a Medicare plan, your plan will send you a "Plan Annual Notice of Change" (ANOC) each fall. The ANOC includes any changes in coverage, costs, and more. If you don't receive this important document, contact your plan.
Do I need to do anything if I'm happy with my current plan?
Even if you're satisfied, it may be a good idea to review your coverage. Premiums, provider networks, and drug formularies can change each year.
When can I learn about next year's plans?
Information for next year's plans will be available beginning in October.
What if I miss the Annual Enrollment deadline?
Unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a major life event, you'll need to wait until next year's window to make changes.
